Savor the Season

I know it sounds cliche to start this off and say savor the season, but mommas, it’s so, SO important. I know we are all running around trying to get all the gifts wrapped, the food bought and then made, make this week memorable for our kids and all the while trying to remind them what the true meaning of Christmas really is. But I would ask you today to remember to carve away time this week, on Christmas Day or even next week during Christmas break to slow down and just savor your babies. They will never be this age again at Christmas.

So snuggle them, watch a movie with popcorn together, bake something yummy together, make hot cocoa with marshmallows, read books aloud, the sky is the limit on what you can do with them and it doesn’t have to be extravagant. Don’t spend lots of money, just be with them and hear their little hearts. I’m sure if you asked them they would have ideas of what they would like to do with you.  Slow down…. take a deep breath and love on your children. Remember the Reason for the Season… Jesus.

Merry Christmas, friends!

Note: Here is a great link to some Healthy Hot Cocoa and Homemade Marshmallows from Alex Smith of Love Daphne Mae. I adore her work and everything she does!
