Happy New Year, Friends!
As I look ahead to 2024, I’m excited about this New Year and all that it holds, both for me personally and for my photography business. I know there is nothing magical about the New Year. But I love how it feels like a fresh, blank slate in my brain. January 1st also usually starts the beginning of the slow season when I can work on personal projects and backend business things.

I cannot go into 2024 thought without first thanking you all for a wonderful 2023! Thank you for all of those of you who invested in my business by hiring me to capture your precious season of life. Thank you also to those of you who cheer me on from Instagram or on this blog. All of you mean the world to me! I loved every mama I got to capture, child I got to smile for the camera and baby I got to snuggle during a session. I cannot wait to see who I get to capture this year!
Word of the Year
I’m also one of those people who love to have a word for the year. Last year, I felt lead to have the word Flourish for 2023. It stayed in my mind many times throughout the year. I kept asking myself if I was flourishing in different aspects of my life. While I don’t know if I accomplished that, I do know I handled everything to the best of my abilities.
This year so far the word I’m leaning towards is Blossom. I know this is a lot like Flourish, but I felt lead to stay on this theme. I want to grow or blossom in each area of my life that God has entrusted to me. It could be motherhood, my home or photography. Whatever it is, I want to grow and continue to do my best at it.
