If I could give one sound track to this post, it would be Ordinary Days by JJ Heller. You can check it out by clicking on the link over the name of the song. I’ve been reflecting a lot on how fast my kids are growing up and it hurts my momma heart to see the years go by so fast! The ordinary days we have with them are some of the best days of our lives! I don’t want to have regrets when I get old on how I spent my days with my kids. This Summer Bucket List was one of the ways I want to savor this summer in particular.
A Summer Bucket List doesn’t have to anything extravagant. You don’t have to spend all kinds of money either. Your kids just want to do things with YOU and make memories with YOU. So get out a blank sheet of paper, a good pen, and some colored pencils and get to work on one of your own. I’m already planning to add to this one because we came up with more things we want to do.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Catch fireflies at dusk
- Watch fireworks
- Make homemade lemonade
- Read a book outside in the hammock
- Swim in a creek
- Eat ice cream cones outside together
- Go to the beach
- Visit grandparents
- Pick strawberries
- Make a slip n slide
- Go camping
- Watch a movie outside
- Run through a summer rainstorm
- Watch a Kid’s Baking Show together
Your list could go on and on! The sky’s the limit! The beauty of it is that my list won’t look like your list and that’s okay. Just savor your kids and the ages they are this summer. I know you won’t regret it!
