Fête en Blanc | Lancaster, PA

Last week I had the privilege to be invited by a friend to a Fête en Blanc party. This event was sponsored to support two amazing, local organizations, Orphan Resources International and North Star Initiative. I love events like this that aren’t just for fun but have a purpose! A huge thank you to Ben and Clarita Yoder for dreaming up this party and hosting it on your property!

In case you didn’t know, a Fête en Blanc is a party where the guests bring their own table decor, linens, dishes, silverware and meal. It’s a huge outdoor fancy picnic of sorts! One rule though is that everyone must wear white to the event, including the men. It makes for such a beautiful cohesive look to the event! If you know me, it makes my neutral loving heart happy to see so much white.

My table was filled with mommas and business women excited to be out for an evening of fun. Bethany, my dear friend, planned out the lovely place settings and table decor for our table. She went above and beyond in many ways!

Unfortunately a thunderstorm rolled in as many guests where setting up their tables and more were still arriving. Many people fled for the cover of the trees, some crawled under the tables, and some stood under umbrellas. I stood with my umbrella, hugging my purse to my chest with my new camera in it. The meat pie, our main dinner course for the evening, was also under the umbrella with me. I couldn’t let our food get wet!

Once the rain passed, we wrung out our table cloth, dried things as best we could and reset our table. By then we had worked up quite an appetite! I’m pretty sure our table had some of the best food there! The Fireside Coffee Truck and Penny’s Ice Cream Truck were there to serve each guest after dinner (I was too busy having a good time to get professional photos of those two trucks). Another area where if you know me, you know I love good ice cream! Penny’s doesn’t disappoint!

Each charity had a time after dinner to share with the guests their mission and heart behind what they do. Jesus is definitely working through each one and is blessing many lives for His Kingdom! All in all, it was a very memorable evening! Again a big thank you to all who planned and worked to host this party!
