It’s so fun to me to be a momma and have children with my friends I’ve had since before I was married. It’s fun to learn and grow along with my besties as we all navigate the waters of motherhood. I find it comforting to know that I’m not alone in motherhood and to know both me and my friends are facing challenges daily with courage and strength.
Bethany was a friend I met during my year of living and serving in Ghana, West Africa. Shortly after I came home from the mission field she moved from Georgia to Pennsylvania to be closer to one of her sisters. I had a sleepover with Beth on the night I got engaged, she stood beside me as my maid of honor on my wedding day and I stood beside her as a bridesmaid on her wedding day. Her easy-going, southern personality is the perfect match for my perfectionistic, type-A, driven personality. Now in this season of our lives, we are mothering our children at the same time. My kids are both older than hers, but that doesn’t change the fact that we are mothers together.
In April Beth gave birth to her second daughter and named her Georgia after her beloved home state. I was honored when she asked me to capture images of her precious, newborn daughter after her arrival.
I hope there are many more years of friendship ahead for Beth and I as we walk this motherhood journey together. Love you, friend! xoxo
