You may be here because you are wondering, “Why should I choose an in-home newborn session?” Let me explain the benefits from my experience and maybe you will be convinced to have your newborn session in your own home.
First, remember than when your baby comes, you are going to be freshly postpartum. Your body will have gone through so much and will still be healing. Taking your photos in your home means you don’t have to pack up yourself and your family to go anywhere for photos. You can get ready and be on location right where you are. You can freshen up your make-up or go to the bathroom whenever you want.
Second, your baby is still adjusting to life outside the womb. Your home is one of the few familiar places to your baby. Everything you need to care for your baby is also right at your fingertips. If you have older kids, they too are going through a lot of change. Being home, in a familiar environment, is so beneficial for both your baby and your other kids.
There is also something about capturing your family in your own home and documenting where you live at this stage of life that is so precious! You never know when you may move to a new place, and documenting your family in your home is part of preserving your legacy for years to come. Your kids can look back and say, “Oh, I remember when we lived there!” Or “I remember when that was your nursery, but now it’s my room.” Those photos will preserve the legacy of your story, your family, in your space.
