This fall maternity session at Valley Forge Historical Park quickly became one of my favorites—both for the breathtaking beauty of the expectant mother and the stunning location. When we decided on Valley Forge for her maternity session, I took the opportunity to scout it out ahead of time and turned it into a homeschool field trip for my kids. We loved learning about how the Continental Army lived and survived the harsh winter at Valley Forge National Historical Park—such a meaningful piece of American history.
The evening of the session brought the most beautiful, hazy golden light. We began at the National Memorial Arch, where the elegant stone architecture added a timeless touch to the images. It also gave us a perfect spot for this mama-to-be to lean and rest as we captured her glowing joy. The gentle breeze added movement to her long, dark hair, making the moment feel all the more magical.
We wrapped up the session in the nearby tall grass as the sunlight softened across the field. I couldn’t stop gushing about how incredible this couple looked surrounded by the golden tones of fall. It was one of those settings you never want to leave—and I would absolutely love to photograph at Valley Forge Historical Park again.
